Fatigue: Studies have shown that after
14 to 15 hours of wakefulness, humans
exhibit the same degree of motor skills and
mental acuity of someone
who has consumed two
alcoholic beverages. After consuming two
servings of alcohol, the average blood alcohol
level would be .05
The max legal limit for pilots is .04, and no
consumption within the previous
eight hours.
If a pilot wakes one hour before arrival at the airport, and then
works the legally allowed sixteen (16) hours on duty, those last few
hours
have reduced a pilot to someone
with the abilities of someone who is
over the legal limit for a pilot on duty.
